Updates to the severe weather threat for Elmore County for today, March 19, 2018 (2)….

Issued at 11:15 a.m. on 3/19/2018 – The National Weather Service WFO in Birmingham has all of central Alabama outlined in an area for severe weather development today. There are 2 different threat time frames for Elmore County for severe weather development. The first is the possibility for severe storm development out ahead of the front that will move through later and this development could be as early as 2:00 p.m. The second is the severe weather threat associated with the front as it moves through the area and this will be during the night-time hours. Most likely between 9:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.. All modes of severe weather are possible beginning with the early afternoon storms through the front moving through later this evening. Damaging winds, large hail and strong tornadoes are possible with this system.
