Update to severe weather threat for today – March 1, 2016 (2)

Posted at 1:45 p.m. 3/1/16 – Just a quick update on the severe weather threat for this afternoon. There have been a few changes with the forecast.

According to the NWS Office in Birmingham, severe weather will be possible this afternoon and evening from around 3:00 p.m. through 11:00 p.m. The primary timeframe for Elmore County to see any severe weather is between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. however, there may be an isolated thunderstorm anytime this afternoon. The graphic below shows the area, timing and potential impacts for portions of Central Alabama. There will be an early wave of thunderstorms across the northern counties through the early afternoon. Additional storms are expected to develop and form a line later in the afternoon that will affect most of the area. Stay tuned for the latest updates, as threats and timing may continue to change through the afternoon and evening.
