Posted at 2:15 p.m. – Elmore County remains under a slight risk for severe weather for tomorrow, Thursday, March 24. According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, there is a risk for severe thunderstorms on Thursday across all of central Alabama, mainly in the afternoon, evening and early night time hours. All modes of severe weather are possible including damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. Below is an updated graphic provided by the NWS office in Birmingham that depicts the threat area, timing and type of hazards we could see in central Alabama. The forecast may be updated some, especially with regards to timing, so watch for changes. We will send out an update if any significant changes are made.
