Slight risk of severe weather for Elmore County for Thursday, March 31 (update1)

Posted at 3:00 p.m. – According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, there is a risk for severe thunderstorms on Thursday across all of central Alabama. The thunderstorms may come in several waves. At this point the greatest time frame for severe weather for Elmore County is tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night. All modes of severe weather are possible including damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. Flash flooding may also be an issue in isolated areas as 2 to 4 inches of rainfall is forecasted area wide. Below is a graphic provided by the NWS office in Birmingham that depicts the threat area, timing and type of hazards we could see in central Alabama.
