Slight risk of servere weather for Elmore County for today and tomorrow, March 31 & April1 (update 2)

Posted as of 9:00 a.m. – According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, there is a risk of severe thunderstorms on Thursday across all of central Alabama. The thunderstorms will occur in several waves. At this point the greatest time frame for severe weather for Elmore County is this afternoon into tomorrow. All modes of severe weather are possible including damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornados. Flash Flooding may also be an issue in isolated areas as 2 to 4 inches of rainfall is forecasted area wide. Below is a graphic provided by the NWS office in Birmingham that depicts the threat area, timing and types of hazards we could see in central Alabama. The forecast may be adjusted some, so stay tuned for changes.
