Posted on 8:45 a.m. on 4/14/2018 – According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, portions of Elmore County continue to be included the Enhanced risk area for severe weather and portions of Elmore County are in the Slight risk area for severe weather for today through early morning hours of tomorrow. Showers and thunderstorms will slide slowly into the area. Strong to severe thunderstorms could occur by early afternoon with heavy rain at times. Areas located in the Enhanced risk area may see tornadoes and/or damaging winds up to 70 mph.
