Issued at 10:30 a.m. on 3/17/2018 – According to the National Weather Service WFO in Birmingham there is a low confidence Marginal Threat for severe storms across the southern portion of Elmore County during the afternoon and into the early evening hours on Sunday. The main threats will be large hail and damaging winds.
The more serious severe weather threat will be during the day on Monday when severe thunderstorms are likely across all of central Alabama Monday afternoon and evening. The main threats will be large hail and damaging winds. The tornado threat is unclear at this point. Forecasts will become more clear the closer we get to Monday.
