Severe Storms Possible Saturday, Mar 25th and Monday, Mar 27th 2017

11:45:35 AM 03/23/2017  The National Weather Service has placed a portion of Elmore County in a “Slight Risk” for severe weather on Saturday, March 25, 2017. A line of strong to severe storms will be possible Saturday afternoon and evening in association with an upper level storm system. While this activity will be possible across all of Central Alabama, the best chances for severe storms will be across the western half of the state, generally west of Interstate 65. The main threat will be damaging straight line winds.

There is also a chance for severe weather again on Monday, March 27, 2017.

Elmore County EMA will continue to monitor these storm systems and will post updates to the website as they become available.

As shown in the graphic below, the Slight Risk Area involves western Elmore County with the main threat being damaging straight line winds up to 60 mph.
