Below is the Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the NWS Office in Birmingham:
.DAY ONE…Outlook through Tonight.
Strong to marginally severe storms will be possible this afternoon
and evening across Central Alabama. Although most storms are
expected to remain below severe limits, due to wet and saturated
grounds, sub severe winds could potentially cause some weaker trees
to go down. The risk for an isolated tornado will be limited but not
zero.
Flood warnings will remain in effect for portions of the Black
Warrior River and Tombigbee River basins. Please refer to river
statements for specific point flood and crest information. In
addition to river flooding, the prolonged heavy rains could result
in rises of small stream, creeks, and in low lying areas.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Sunday through Friday.
Strong to marginally severe storms will be possible again on Sunday
afternoon ahead of a front across Central Alabama.
Flood warnings will remain in effect for portions of the Black
Warrior River and Tombigbee River basins. Due to the forecast of
localized heavy rainfall through Monday, river flooding will
continue to be possible through Wednesday. Please refer to river
statements for specific point flood and crest information. Also,
flooding potential due to prolonged heavy rains could result in
rises of small stream, creeks and in low lying areas again on
Sunday.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…
Activation of storm spotters and emergency management may be needed
both today and Sunday.
