Changes in timing and treat for Elmore County as it pertains to severe weather March 31 into April 1, 2016 – Update #3

Posted 5:30 p.m. The National Weather Service in Birmingham moved Elmore County into an elevated category for severe weather saying a greater severe weather threat exists after 5 PM, when additional storms develop and move eastward across the area. These storms could produce tornadoes, damaging winds and large hail. This threat could continue as late as 4 AM Friday morning in the southeast. Below is an updated graphic provided by the NWS office in Birmingham that depicts the threat area, timing and type of hazards we could see in central Alabama. The time frames are approximate range, make sure you are prepared for watches and warnings if and when they become necessary.
