Marginal Severe Weather Threat for Tomorrow – March 1, 2016

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has Elmore County in a Marginal threat area tomorrow for the potential for severe thunderstorms. According to the NWS in Birmingham isolated severe storms are possible across portions of Central Alabama Tuesday from around 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and at this time the most likely timeframe for thunderstorm activity in Elmore County will be from 6:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m. tomorrow evening and tomorrow night. The main threats will be damaging winds up to 60 to 70 mph and quarter sized hail. A brief tornado cannot be ruled out. Below is a graphic provided by the NWS Office in Birmingham that shows the possible threats and timing for severe weather tomorrow.
