NWS says “Severe threat remains the same for tomorrow, April 5, 2017”.

04/04/2017 9:00 p.m. – According to the NWS, the forecast discussion sent out earlier today is still current. They are continuing to highlight that the severe threat will persist beginning early in the morning hours and last throughout the day into tomorrow night. So tomorrow we need to remain weather aware for the entire day! We are not anticipating any changes to the forecast at this point through the night.

The National Weather Service, Birmingham, updated the graphic below this afternoon, delineating counties in Central Alabama as either in the “Moderate Risk Area” or the “Enhanced Risk Area” for the purpose of severe weather. The change to the graph below shows the Moderate Risk Area now incorporates more area to our west. Confidence for this possible outbreak remains high but please keep abreast of the latest severe weather updates through your favorite severe weather sources, i.e., smart phone apps, NOAA Weather Radio, broadcast media weather services, EMA webpage,…
