Marginal severe weather threat for Elmore County this afternoon into tonight, April 22, 2018….(1)

Posted at 2:00 p.m. on 4/22/2018 – According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office in Birmingham, Elmore County is included in a Marginal risk area for severe storms that will be possible this afternoon through around midnight tonight. There is potential for brief tornadoes and damaging wind gusts south of a Reform to Clanton to Phenix City. While widespread flash flooding is not expected, locally heavy rainfall today may also result in minor flooding of poor drainage areas/usual trouble spots and rises on some creeks and streams.
