.A very cold air mass will remain in Central Alabama through the
end of the week. This air mass will bring bitterly cold
temperatures to the area, with low temperatures falling into the
low teens to low 20`s several mornings. Some areas may even
experience single digits.

* TEMPERATURE...will range from 10 to 22 degrees each morning. A
  few locations across the northern counties could experience
  singe digit lows.

* IMPACTS...prolonged exposure to these temperatures could
  result in exposed water pipes freezing and possibly bursting,
  as well as killing sensitive vegetation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Hard Freeze Warning means very cold temperatures are imminent
or highly likely. These conditions could be hazardous to

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the counties served by the
National Weather Service office in Birmingham.

.DAY ONE...Outlook through Tonight.

Another cold night in store with temperatures in the low teens in
the north to near 20 degrees in the southeast. Wind chill values
will dip to zero or just below across the northeastern sections of
the area.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

The prolonged period of cold temperatures will be in place for the
rest of the week. While conditions will remain dry, temperatures
will drop into the lower teens to lower 20s each morning, resulting
in a hard freeze possible through Saturday morning.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Activation of storm spotters and emergency management is not
expected at this time.
