Flash Flooding possible again today (8-11-17)
According to the National Weather Service office in Birmingham heavy rainfall on Thursday produced saturated soils across much of eastern Alabama. Elmore County is under a Flash Flood Watch until midnight, tonight. Also according to the NWS, any additional rainfall generally along and east of Interstate 65 could result in localized flash flooding as well as rises in creeks and streams. The flooding threat will likely continue through the evening before ending around Midnight. Below is the Flash Flood Watch statement issued by the NWS Weather Forecast Office in Birmingham along with a graphic showing the forecast for today.

.Heavy rainfall will likely develop again this afternoon across
portions of Central Alabama. Generally the eastern half of Central
Alabama received 1 to 2 inches of rain in the past 24 hours. Some
areas received between 4 and 6 inches, with estimated totals even
higher. While the highest totals remained isolated any additional
rainfall over these areas could potentially result in flash
flooding, so stay prepared and weather aware.

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of central Alabama, east
central Alabama, northeast Alabama, and southeast Alabama,
including the following areas, in central Alabama, Autauga,
Blount, Chilton, Coosa, Elmore, Jefferson, Lowndes,
Montgomery, Shelby, St. Clair, and Talladega. In east central
Alabama, Calhoun, Chambers, Clay, Cleburne, Lee, Macon,
Randolph, Russell, and Tallapoosa. In northeast Alabama,
Cherokee and Etowah. In southeast Alabama, Barbour, Bullock,
and Pike.
* From 10 AM CDT this morning through this evening
* Heavy rainfall will likely develop again this afternoon across
portions of Central Alabama. With already saturated ground in
place any additional rain could result in localized flash
flooding.

Ceasarville Road reopened! Power and cable crews completed work a short time ago.
Posted at 12:58 a.m. on 8-4-2107 — Ceasarville Road from Allen Lane to AL Hwy 111, has been reopened. Power and cable crews have completed power line and cable restoration activities at this location.
Road Closure in Elmore County! – Ceasarville Road

Ceasarville Road is closed from Allen Road to AL Hwy 111, due to power line and cable line restoration. Cable and power company’s are working to restore traffic flow. This is a temporary closure until work is completed. Work should be completed within 2 to 3 hours.
